McGinley Trophy 2010.
This inter-club competition has been in existence for past seven, for the Winners of annual club four-ball match play. In 2009 the Stackstown winners were Jim Kavanagh & Declan O’Hanlon, and thus they qualified to enter above competition. A total of 64 teams enter, and our representatives came through the various rounds and qualified for the Semi-Final/Final on Sunday 8th August 2010 which was held in Powerscourt Golf Club.
During the course of the competition, in match between Stackstown v Rathfarnham our man Jim Kavanagh had a “Hole in One “.
In semi-final Stackstown v Old Conna, our men played excellent golf, but were defeated on the 18th Hole by a birdie. Old Conna then played Portmarnock in the final and they were also defeated on 18th Hole.
The weather was wonderful and sunny that lead to great golf been played by all involved. Stackstown can be proud of Jim and Declan.
Mr Paul Mc Ginley attended at Powerscourt 7pm and presented the prizes winners and runners up. The organising committee made a special presentation to Jim for the Hole in One.
Members note that when you win the Club Four Ball match play competition you qualify to enter McGinley Trophy.
