RYDER CUP FESTIVAL OF GOLF

Sep-14-2021
A celebration of golf marking Captain Gerry and Lady Captain Sheila's DRIVE-OUT and the occasion of the Ryder Cup Captained by our own Pádraig Harrington will take place on the 24th-26th September. On Friday 24th, we will have an 18 hole singles competition for members. This is very kindly sponsored by Supervalu.   On Saturday 25th, there will be a 4 persons team event for members sponsored by Tesco. BBQ burgers will be served by our Social Committee on the 9th Hole.   Finally, Sunday 26th will be packed with activity and fun. There will be a 9 hole shotgun scramble for members commencing at 10am and 1.30pm sponsored by TSB and St. Raphael's Garda Credit Union.. Primary focus of the day is Captains' Gerry and Sheila's DRIVE-OUT at 1.00pm. As you know Covid prevented the traditional Drive-In event. So, I am sure members will be there to acknowledge their captaincy over the past two unprecedented years. It is a day of celebration and hopefully we will see the European Ryder Cup team victorious in the USA. A large screen will be set up outdoors for viewing. The Friday (24th) and Saturday (25th) competitions will go live for booking on the BRS TONIGHT Monday 13th September at 21.00.  The Sunday (26th) competition will be a manual timesheet. The timesheet for Sunday (26th) will be available for booking in the bar area at 10am this Thursday, 16th September. Please support your club activities.

Congratulations to our own Carol Brill

Sep-10-2021
Congratulations to our own Carol Brill who with caddy Theresa Shutte has won the SDGC British Open. Carol, the only lady golfer in the field of 37, won out after 3 gruelling days of competitive golf. Well done Carol.
