This page is dedicated to those people who, as members of Stackstown Golf Club, have distinguished themselves in Irish and International Golfing circles.

Padraig Harrington

Triple Major Winner Padraig is without doubt the most famous player to emerge from Stackstown Golf Club. His performance as an amatuer golfer in Ireland is second to none and he has reached as high as 6th in world ranking. Tom O'Donoghue

Tom was Leinster Senior Champion in 1990, 1991 and 1992. He was member of the Irish Senior team in 1993 having been runner up in the Leinster Senior Championship in that year. He was also runner up in the Irish Seniors Amatuer Open Championship in 1994.

Michael McDermott

Winner of the 2001 West of Ireland Championship on its return to the Co Sligo Golf Club, Michael has also represented Stackstown on the Leinster Boys team in 1996 and on the Irish international and Leinster Boys team in 1997. Michael McDermott turned professional in 2004.

Lorna Browne

Lorna has made the Leinster Girls Team 3 times, in 91,92,93. The Irish Girls Team in 92 and the Irish Junior Team in 93. She also made the Irish Student International Team in 95

Caoimhe McKeon

Caoimhe has won the All Ireland U15 School Girl’s Champion as well as the Champion of Champions U 15 Runner Up in 2020.

Caoimhe also holds the Ladies Course Record, set just a week after her 15th birthday.  

 

Richard Brdiges

Represented Ireland at World University’s 2010.

Mark Campbell

Mark was a member of the Leinster Boys team in 1995 and 1996. In 1996 he was also a member of the Irish Boys team and was Irish Boys champion in that year. In 1997 he was a member of the Leinster Youths team, the Irish Boys International team and the Great Britain and Ireland Boys International Team. In 1998 he was a member of the Leinster Youths Team.  Irish Boys team 1996/97.  G.B.& I boys team under 18.  1997 Irish Youths team 1997/2000.  Irish University team member 2000 & 2004.  Irish men’s caps in 1999, 2003 & 2004. Irish panellists, Irish elite panellists 2003, 2004 & 2005.  Carey Cup vs M.G.A. 2000 & 2003.  Irish under 17 & under 18 champion 1996.  Belgian under 21 champion 1997.  South of Ireland champion 1999.  East of Ireland winner 2004.  Winner of Midlands Scratch Cup 2004.  Woodbrook Scratch Cup 2002.
2004 joint winner of Irish Amateur Order of Merit.  Captain of winning UCD winning Irish Club Youths 2000.  All Ireland winning Barton Shield team 2001.  Member of Stackstown’s All Ireland runner up Barton Shield team 2003.  Leinster runner up Senior Cup team 2003 Stackstowns.
