Lady Captains Charity Day Presentation

Lady President Mary McKenna and Lady Captain Sheila Gillick presented St Michael’s House Grosnovor School with a cheque for €6,700 this morning to go towards their new wheelchair swing.

A celebration of golf marking Captain Gerry and Lady Captain Sheila's DRIVE-OUT and the occasion of the Ryder Cup Captained by our own Pádraig Harrington will take place on the 24th-26th September. On Friday 24th, we will have an 18 hole singles competition for members. This is very kindly sponsored by Supervalu.   On Saturday 25th, there will be a 4 persons team event for members sponsored by Tesco. BBQ burgers will be served by our Social Committee on the 9th Hole.   Finally, Sunday 26th will be packed with activity and fun. There will be a 9 hole shotgun scramble for members commencing at 10am and 1.30pm sponsored by TSB and St. Raphael's Garda Credit Union.. Primary focus of the day is Captains' Gerry and Sheila's DRIVE-OUT at 1.00pm. As you know Covid prevented the traditional Drive-In event. So, I am sure members will be there to acknowledge their captaincy over the past two unprecedented years. It is a day of celebration and hopefully we will see the European Ryder Cup team victorious in the USA. A large screen will be set up outdoors for viewing. The Friday (24th) and Saturday (25th) competitions will go live for booking on the BRS TONIGHT Monday 13th September at 21.00.  The Sunday (26th) competition will be a manual timesheet. The timesheet for Sunday (26th) will be available for booking in the bar area at 10am this Thursday, 16th September. Please support your club activities.

Congratulations to our own Carol Brill

Welcome To Stackstown

Michael Kennedy and Joan Moore, our 2018 Captains welcome you to Stackstown Golf Club

The Club was established in 1976. Initially founded as a Golf Club for Ireland's national police force, An Garda Síochána, it has grown into one of the most respected and attractive venues to play golf in Dublin, Ireland. Whilst Padraig Harrington is our most famous son, the ladies and gentlemen of Stackstown have won honours in most national competitions including major provincial competitions.
Visitors are always welcome at Stackstown and will enjoy the panoramic views of Dublin Bay on the recently redeveloped eighteen hole golf course.
Padraig's Harrington's international experience in the design of this redevelopment has resulted in a challenging Course for members and visitors alike.
A fully equipped Pro-Shop and a plentiful supply of buggies provide the novice and experienced golfer with all that is needed. The social and hospitable atmosphere in the bar and restaurant will complete a wonderful visit to our club. See it for yourself.....

Harrington Wins Again!

Congratulations to our honorary member, Padraig Harrington on winning the 2016 Portugal Masters, at the Victoria Course in Vilamoura on Sunday.

Padraig scored a flawless 65 in his final round to win by one shot. His wonderful short game, honed during his amateur days in Stackstown, was well evident over the four days, during which he took only 100 puts.

This is Padraig’s fifteenth win on the European Tour and it moves him up 62 places to 97th on the World Golf Rankings. It also moves him up to 43rd in the Race to Dubai rankings.

 Next Stop – The Masters!
